Introduction about Cricket
Cricket is a bat and ball game played between two teams in which each team contains 11players. The game is played on a oval shaped field. In the centre of the field there is a rectangular pitch which is 22-yards long. A team wins the toss and thus will be chosen to field or bat 1st by the team captain. One team will bat on the rectangular pitch trying to score as many runs as possible. Whereas the other team fields and tries to dismiss the batsman and defend or limit the runs scored by the batting team. The person who is facing the bowler is called the striker and the person who is on the opposite side of the pitch is called the non-striker. A run is scored by the striker by hitting with his bat and running on the opposite side and touching the crease before a fielder gets the ball in his hands and hits the wicket. The teams switch between batting and bowling after the 1st innings so that the batting team can score and the bowling team can defend their score.
In professional cricket the length of game ranges from 20-50 overs , one-day match. And the test match played over five days. Each over in cricket contains six bowling deleveries made by the bowler on the fielding side. The laws of cricket are maintained by THE INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL(ICC) and THE MARYLEBONE CRICKET CLUB(MCC) with Standard playing conditions for test matches and One Day Internationals. ICC game governing body has ten full members.
